Stretching is very important when exercising, and you should be doing a small stretch before and after your exercises, but I would take atleast one day a week to do a complete hour of stretching exercises or yoga.  There are some exercise videos out there that contain an hour or more of stretching exercises, and there are countless numbers of yoga videos.  Yoga and stretching can be very relaxing, keep you flexible, and make sure you don't bulk up.

Flexibility is the key objective here though.  Have you ever gotten up from your seat and your legs felt stiff, and so it took you a minute to get walking?  Maybe you started to limp for a minute trying to get the stiffness out of your legs.  A lot of times this may even happen because of exercise, after we've been working out our muscles.  Well stretching will relieve you of this.  The more flexible you are, the less often you will stifften up.  It is important to take some time, atleast once a week, to completely get out all the kinks in your body.

So, TIP #12 Stretch a little before and after each exercise, and take atleast 1 day a week to do an hour of  stretching or an hour of yoga.  You'll be more flexible, and feel alive.  You'll be glad you did!
