100 FREE tips to get rid of fat forever! TIP #10 IS IT OKAY TO SPLURGE ON JUNK FOOD ONCE IN A WHILE?

                                                      100 TIPS IN 100 DAYS
                TIP #10 IS IT OKAY TO SPLURGE ON JUNK FOOD ONCE IN A WHILE?

     The answer is both yes and no.  No you can not splurge, but yes you can eat junk every once in a while, with certain conditions that I will explain.  First of all, by junk food I am talking about fried foods, chips, sweets, anything with chemicals in it, and all the foods you are told not to eat.  Some "diets" will tell you that you can put aside a day for you to splurge and cheat on your diet so that you don't go crazy and miss the foods you love.  I am saying that this is sort of backwards.

     {In the definition of "junk" I included chemicals.  Chemicals are the worst for you, and these chemicals include ANYTHING artificial, hydrogenated oils, cigarettes, alcohol, over the counter drugs, illegal drugs, prescription drugs, and so on.}

     First of all I don't agree with "diets" in the least.  They really don't work because you are sacrificing, really your happiness, and you should never "sacrifice" anything.  Sometimes you may need to compromise on matters, or cut back, but you should never ever sacrifice anything, especially happiness.  (sacrificing in this way means completely giving up something that you do not want to give up to please someone else or giving up something that you really love and will be sad or depressed without, because you are told you should by someone outside yourself)

    What you want to do is change the way you eat alltogether.  These methods that I am telling you work, but you can't use them until they work for you, then go back to the way it was before, that will always fail.  You will be right back where you were, and you don't want that.  As I said in tips before, you should try to eat as naturally as you can, and eat meals in portions no bigger then your fist atleast 4 hours apart.  But, if you have certain foods that you feel you just can't give up, go ahead and eat them, just eat them in smaller portions and less often.

     If you follow the advice of taking a day to splurge, you will hurt all of your efforts, stretch your stomach again, and you will get back into the habbit of over eating, which you should be trying to get rid of forever.  It is the same as a drug addict.  Can you imagine if the leader of the addict meetings said everyone can take one day a week to splurge and get as high as they want!?  Would that ever work?  Of course not.  Well food is an addiction too, and if you get in the habbit of overeating, you have created an addiction, and there is no room to give into that addiction.  The fact that you have to have food to survive makes it a little trickier, but that is why you have to teach yourself how to eat in portions and not over eat.  Allowing a day to overeat is damaging to your health and efforts, so don't do it.

      I'll give you a personal example.  I absolutely LOVE buffalo chicken wings.  This is a food that I will never give up, because it makes me happy to eat them and why would I give up something that makes me happy?  You never should.  So I try to eat wings that I make at home as often as I can, and I try to fry them in olive oil when I am able to.  When I can't, I use "smart balance oil" because this is the closest to olive oil that I have found, and it even contains some olive oil in it.

    {When choosing oils, you want to cut out any oils that are hydrogenated such as crisco, vegetable, and margarine.  Hydrogenated means that they added hydrogen atoms to completely change the structure of the fat inside the oil into a chemical (as apposed to a natural fat) to give it a longer shelf life.}

    {In these types of oils you will find trans fats which are THEE WORST types of fats you could ever put in your body.  They are un-natural and very dangerous to your health.  Avoid trans fats at all costs, avoid hydrogenated oils completely, and avoid foods that use artificial coloring or flavoring.}

    {You want to look for oils that are natural and not hydrogenated, have 0 trans fats, and make sure most of the fat contained in the oil is monounsaturated.  Monounsaturated fat is the best fat you could put in your body.  You will find this in olives, olive oil, avacado, salmon and so on.  These are the easiest fats for your body to burn, and your body will use these fats as fuel.  The second best is polyunsaturated.}

     And instead of eating 10 chicken wings or more, like I use to, I make sure that I don't go above 5, and I eat less then 5 when I am able to.  If you wanted to eat 10 chicken wings, you could eat 5 and then 4 hous later eat another 5, but there is no reason why you need to scarf down all your food in one sitting.  Remember that "doggy bags" are a great thing, and the food will always be there tomorrow or later on.

     A lot of people were raised to eat everything on their plate and not waste food.  This is really damaging to raise a child this way.  Your own body will tell you when it is full, and if you eat beyond that point, you are doing yourself a complete injustice.  This will stretch your stomach and put unwanted fat on your body.  So erase that thought of starving children in Africa that your parents use to tell you about when they were trying to convince you to eat everything on your plate.  Are these African children going to be fed because your eating up everything on your plate?  Of course not, so this reasoning is so silly, and how it got started as something that parents say I'll never know, but they do.  I know the reason they say it is that you should concider yourself lucky and not waste food, but you should not let this be a reason you eat up everything.

     You can always save your leftovers for later, and you should be serving yourself smaller portions.  Listen to your body, and if after 10 grapes your body is full, then stop eating and wait until you're hungry again.  But if you have stretched your stomach so far out of wack that after 20 chicken wings you're still not full, then you need to do some real work to make sure that you are not eating more than that fist full of food at a time.  It may be hard for these types of people, but it is a must!

     Look at the back of labels and check where the trans fats, hydrogenated oils, and artificial colors and flavors are.  Avoid these as much as you can.  And keep in mind that when you buy fried foods, donuts, fries, burgers, sodas and other fast foods or foods from restaraunts, there is a good chance that they are made with these types of chemicals you do not want in your body.  But today's tip is that if they are foods that you don't want to give up, just try to eat them as less often as possible, make your own at home when you can, and eat these in very small portions.  A little here and there won't hurt, but don't ever splurge.

     So, TIP #10, you are not on a diet, you are changing the way you eat completely.  You don't have to completely give up the foods you love, but you should try to make them at home as much as possible with ingredients that you know are beneficial.  And whether you make them at home or you buy them already prepared, you want to make sure you are not over indulging.  Never ever "cheat" or "splurge" there is no reason to in this way of eating.  You are not depriving yourself of ANYTHING, you are just simply eating in smaller portions and less often.  If you want to order out, go ahead, but don't do it often and eat in smaller portions, use doggy bags and save some for later.  Cut out as much artificial flavor and color, trans fats, and hydrogenated oils as possible. Use as much monounsaturated fats and polyunsaturated fats, and you will be burning fat in no time!
